"The Last Pay"
Mayaa stared at her old, worn-out credit card, her fingers trembling. It wasn’t just plastic — it was memories.
It had paid for her first solo trip, surprise gifts for her parents, and late-night pizza orders during endless study nights. It had also carried her through storms — unexpected bills, job loss, heartbreak. Every swipe was a silent promise: You’ll make it through.
Today, standing in the checkout line with groceries for her new apartment and a fresh job contract tucked in her bag, she knew — this was the last time she'd need it for survival. She smiled, teary-eyed, as she swiped.
A small beep. A big beginning.
